HM 480 cannot crimp 10" with 286mm dies

Problem: 

HM 480 does not crimp a 10" fitting with 286mm dies (SpPB 5171 M-250-Ø286).

The outside diameter without crimping is 320mm, which is absolutely within the working range.

By manually changing the switching point diameter to 350mm and to 100 bar, the result was the same.

Solution:

the function of the machine is as expected, as it is outside the regular crimping path of 80mm.

Calculation of the accepted working range: Master Dies Ø230mm + 80mm = Ø310

Special dies SpPB 5171 M-250-Ø286 already have an outer diameter of Ø315 with a nominal crimp diameter of Ø286, see drawing. This does not work with standard limit dimensions of 80mm. 

For special low pressure applications we can accept crimp paths up to 120mm with 2/3 of the maximum pressure. 

You need to open the "faktorydef" file (System:C > Uniflex > Crimper > mset) and change the crimp path setting from 80mm to 120mm, then it will work.

Dies OD 315mm - Master dies ID 230mm = 85mm / outside the crimp path

Dies OD 320mm - Dies ID 286mm = 34mm Crimping path for dies

85mm + 34mm = 119mm required crimping path > change to 120mm
